A New Bagpipe Playing Skeleton T-Shirt

February 22nd, 2010

I have more than one skull for the skeleton designs and was feeling the urge of giving a different personality to my first bagpipe playing  skeleton,  so I reworked him a bit and ended up giving him a kilt to wear since after all what’s a bagpipe player without a kilt?

So today I’m proud to announce the new kilt (and knife) wearing bagpiper skeleton!

Hope you like him!

The blurb:  A unique kilt wearing skeleton bagpiper design. Great for bagpipe players and folks who loves bagpipes!

Beer Happy Skeleton T-Shirts

February 2nd, 2010

The idea of drawing a beer drinking skeleton came about other day while driving through a snow storm so last Sunday I gave it a go, modifying and hopefully improving a mug of beer drawing from a few years ago. Likewise, before making a completely new one, I offered it (the beer) to my Saint Patrick’s Day skeleton of last year.

Cheers, and good health to you, madams and sirs. Sláinte!

This design can also be bought from Rattlebrained Designs: Beer Happy Skeleton t-shirts and stuff

Listen To Me!

January 28th, 2010

This week I’ve continued to add some of my older, more successful, design over at Rattlebrained Rags as well as make a few new ones; like the above Listen To Me! One of the cool things with Zazzle is that you can offer people the possibility of adding their own input to your designs and even suggest a specific font like I have done here.

And it’s a fact that just having a speaker drawn in the center of your shirt is fun but not necessarily as funny as the shirt could be with a little personalization… Is this fun, or what?

:p

A skeleton’s hand playing rhythm bones with the humorous statement: Born To Bone!

I made this design earlier this week, I had been working around the Born To Bone funny saying but wasn’t happy with any of the ideas that came up until the obvious just glared at me. You get this funny feeling mixing joy and stupidity when that happens: like hey, what took you so long.  Shown here on a white t-shirt but clicking on the image will take you to it’s section with the whole kit kaboodle: dark t-shirts, organic tees,  hoodies, mugs, magnets and all the rest. Hope you like it!

On the store side, I’ve started selecting designs from other designers to add to three newly created sections that will contain exactly that, funny and cool design made by other artists. I’m planning a whole bunch of these new sections that will focus on musical instrument themed tees but it is time consuming to wade through all the existing designs and a bit frustrating too. When finally you find something cool only to discover that the person behind the design hasn’t learned how to deal with the design on dark t-shirts so you get a big ugly white square for instance. But all in all, behind most of the better designs you obviously have someone who knows the works so it’s not that bad, just slow.

In any case I have now added a bunch of Bass t-shirt  designs, Guitar t-shirt designs and Percussion, drummer t-shirt designs. So feel free to check them out if you happen to be a bass player (electric or upright), a guitarist or a drummer! ;-)

Love You Forever Skeletons

January 20th, 2010

I just added this new design about eternal love to Rattlebrained Rags (click on image) as well as here at Rattlebrained Designs: Love You Forever Skeletons. Sorry if it’s a bit confusing, basically I’m slowly filling up the Zazzle shop with my favorite designs from the past while adding all the new ones to both shops.

Although perfect as a twisted Valentine’s day t-shirt, anti-valentine’s day (?), this hugging skeleton couple is good for any day when you’re love is forever! Hope you like it!

It’s not that easy to find t-shirts for your tuba playing friends that go beyond the “better buy a design that everyone likes”: I Love Tubas. But Band Geek Tees: “In Your F-A-C-E!” Tuba is both funny and graphically cool and can be found on mugs, magnets, hoodies, t-shirts, buttons and more. What more do you need, add it to your gifts for tuba players list today!

BTW: these links lead to the designer’s store where you will be able to chose among a large selection of t-shirts for men, women and children as well as customize the image’s size and placement. For that you need to click on “Customize it” (underneath the “Add to cart” button); some designers even let you add your own statement or a loved one’s name to customize it even more!!

Bot Bones

Bot Bones Logo

Scott Miller, who is the guy behind one of my favorite (non t-shirt) stores on the web Bone Dry Music contacted me last fall about a new kind of rhythm bones he was developing and would I be interested in creating a logo? Would love too! was of course my answer as I began to work on his idea: a robot hand playing metal bones.
You can read the whole story of how Bot Bones came to be on his store’s Bot Bones information page; they are metal rhythm bones currently made from aluminum (with copper, brass and stainless steel still in the works).

Recently I was trying to describe the sound of Bot Bones, which are rhythm bones made from aluminum, as opposed to bones made of wood and of course bone “bones” on my blog recently but lacked the words. Thinking the recorded sound was better than words anyway I made the video below hoping the difference is audible despite a cheap mic and all…

And last but not least, Scott has permitted me to sell t-shirts, stickers and stuff with the Bot Bones logo in my shop. They can be found in the Drummers, Rubboards & Rhythm Bones department of my store.
